What is Open Graph?

Open Graph is a protocol that enables web pages to become rich objects in social graphs. When you share a URL on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or other platforms, Open Graph tags determine what title, description, and image appear in the preview.

Why Open Graph Tags Matter

Well-optimized Open Graph tags can significantly increase click-through rates on social media. Posts with rich previews including images get 2-3x more engagement than those without. This tool helps you ensure your content looks perfect before you share it.

Features of This Tool

  • URL Fetching: Enter any URL to automatically fetch and analyze its existing Open Graph tags
  • 8 Platform Previews: See exactly how your link will appear on Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, iMessage, and Telegram
  • Real-time Validation: Character counters, image dimension checks, and a share readiness score help you optimize for maximum engagement
  • Image Analysis: Automatic detection of image dimensions with platform-specific crop previews and recommendations
  • Multiple Export Formats: Generate code as HTML meta tags, Next.js Metadata objects, JSON-LD structured data, or raw JSON
  • Dark/Light Mode: Preview how your links look in both dark and light themes on supported platforms

Recommended Image Sizes

For optimal display across all platforms, use images that are 1200x630 pixels (1.91:1 aspect ratio). This size works well for Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter summary_large_image cards. Some platforms like Pinterest prefer taller images, so consider your primary sharing channels when choosing dimensions.

Character Limits

Titles should be kept under 60 characters, and descriptions under 160 characters for optimal display. Longer text will be truncated with ellipses on most platforms. This tool shows real-time character counts with warnings when you approach or exceed recommended limits.
